LA NOCHE AMERICANA is a necessary lie. An image built with daylight that the eye accepts as darkness. That is the principle we work from: creating what does not exist, shaping stories that need to be told.
We are an independent film production company. We develop and produce our own projects and collaborations, with a focus on narrative, image, and the time that a good film deserves.

We do not produce in volume. We choose the projects we believe in and accompany them from the very beginning, with care and discernment. What you will find here are the films we have decided to give that time to.

Synopsis
A hybrid of fiction and documentary exploring the figure of Basque writer Pío Baroja. A student, Ana, is commissioned to write her Master's thesis on the celebrated, prolific and controversial author. Reluctantly and with considerable scepticism, she begins to research his life, engaging in conversations with the writer's alter ego. Fiction gives way to documentary format, drawing on interviews, extensive archival material and footage related to this prolific and contradictory writer, who lived through two World Wars, dictatorships and a civil war — a figure on whom no one can agree, except on one thing: he was a genius.
